My name is Dakota. For four years I’ve been attending high school, and for four years I’ve been anxiously awaiting the start of my life. To see what it truly means to grow up. Along this journey, I’ve realized some key things about my life.

Firstly, I’ve always had a passion for science. As a little girl, I loved dinosaurs more than life itself, and considered being a paleontologist in order to keep them close in my life. I watched many a documentary on dinosaurs, including a particularly interesting one in which a group of scientists set out to create a dinosaur by manipulating the genes of chicken embryos in eggs. They managed to turn on genes that allowed them to grow teeth, feathery feet, and even extended tails. It was fascinating, and so of course little me wanted a piece of the action. I decided then and there that I’d be the first person to create a dinosaur.

Second, I thrive on creativity, on being able to use something else as a vessel for my thoughts. Whether it be a short story, a work of fan fiction or art, or a character design, I have always felt fulfilled when I am creative. I often become completely absorbed in good media, my mind taken over by characters from whatever show or game has become my fascination. For instance, Arcane was one of such influential shows to me. I created many a drawing inspired by the show, though usually focused on either of my two favorite characters.

Now I have the opportunity here to share my passions with you, whomever reads over my musings. And so, I humbly submit my works for your viewing, and thank you for taking the time to look at them, if you so wish to.
